About the club Desborough Bowling Club is located in York Road, in the centre of Maidenhead, Berkshire. You can see our location on this map. We are about 5 minutes walk from Maidenhead train station. The club was formed in 1907, with an outdoor green and club house. We have improved our facilities greatly since then. Our indoor green was built in 1966 and is very popular with bowlers from a wide area. This indoor arena was renovated in 1999, ready for the winter season, and is a super facility for our members during the winter months. It has a green gauge carpet on a wooden floor. Both indoor and outdoor greens are full size. Our membership numbers around 800 - this includes some international standard bowlers. ![]() The popular indoor green We operate a traditional dress code - white shirt, grey trousers and brown shoes for gentlemen and white top, regulation grey skirt, blue cardigan/waistcoat and brown shoes for ladies. Bowling shoes must be worn when on the greens. Matches must be played in all white (including shoes). Desborough Bowling Club acts as hosts for matches for the Berkshire County Indoor Bowling Association and the Berkshire County Women’s Indoor Bowling Association. We run a variety of competitions for members. We are affiliated to the English Bowling Association,
